In the first place, let us turn to the Almighty God and thank Him for His blessings and protection during this very trying time when the whole world is facing together and battling the coronavirus Covid-19 onslaught. |
Due to the coronavirus pandemic all manner of activities have been stopped and laws restricting movements imposed. The MCO has, therefore, affected adversely the holding of our sacred Kaamatan Festival for this year of 2020. Whether we like it or not the emergence of the coronavirus Covid-19 has to be acknowledged as a disease which cannot be ignored as a disease which can cause many deaths if not treated or if preventive measures are not taken by governments and those in authorities! |
Whilst the whole world is working hard to battle the coronavirus pandemic, we have to comply with the MCO imposed by the government as part of the overall strategy to overcome and reduce the adverse impact on people worldwide as well as within our own community. |
We thank our people for their understanding and concern as well. We thank, especially, those heroic and stoic front liners whose dedication to duties and responsibilities encourage us all to comply with the various SOPs which government has imposed on us. Nonetheless, I have noticed that the spirit of Kaamatan is very high indeed. This is very obvious when we view “WhatsApps” comments, and sharing of old Kaamatan and sentimental traditional songs! We are certainly uplifted by the high spirit of Kaamatan despite the coronavirus still threatening all humanity! |
I am very appreciative of whatever contribution each and everyone of us can combine with others within and through our KDCA to extend our support to those of our members in our community who need such assistance. May God Almighty continue to bless them, and guide us all in this crisis! |
