Kota Kinabalu: Thirty-year-old Michael Allen Chin from Inanam, here, drove home a brand new Mitsubishi Triton Lite 4x2 Double Cab after he won the grand prize in the Nescafe Classic and Maggie? Tadau Kaamatan Contests. Eight others also won a Modenas Kriss 100 motorcycle each and another two received a cash prize of RM5,000 during the presentation ceremony held at the Marina Club Sutera Harbour here. The prizes were given away by Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Deputy President, Datuk Clarence Bongkos Malakun, who represented the KDCA President, Datuk Joseph Pairin Kitingan, who was also the Kaamatan 2009 main organising committee chairman. Nestle Products Sdn Bhd Branch Manager for East Malaysia and Brunei, Fung Tze Shing, and other KDCA committee members, were also present. The contests were organised in conjunction with this year's Tadau Kaamatan themed "Together We Mould A Better Future" and lasted from May 6 to June 30. All the vehicles come with first year registration, insurance and road tax. Chin, who was overjoyed with his good fortune, said when he filled up the entry form he never thought that he would be the lucky one. ?"Life's full of unexpected surprises. MAGGI? had allocated a total of RM37,000 for its two second prize winners (the RM5,000 cash prize), 10 third prize winners and 120 consolation prizes worth RM100 each. This year's contests also marked the sixth consecutive year of collaboration between Nestle (Malaysia) Berhad and KDCA through the Tadau Kaamatan celebration. "Besides rewarding our loyal consumers for their continuous support, we also see this as an opportunity to give back to the community, in a different way," said Fung. "Our participation in the Tadau Kaamatan celebration is also a way Nestle Sabah helps to encourage the community to stay united and work together moulding a better future for ourselves and our children," he added.
