KDCA-KAAMATAN CHARITY DAY 21 MAY 2008

From the revelations of the rinaits, Dalu Odu Seroh Kahud from Kota Belud enlightened us that having granted Huminodun’s salvific mission for mankind, Kinoingan made charity and sharing of harvest (ponoluadan om pomohogian tomot) as part of the paddy farming culture of the Kadazandusuns.

In the age of moder mass media-mediated culture and globalizing economics, it is wisdom for the Kadazandusuns to continue to value the essence of the heritage of Charity and sharing culture.

This year the State Kaamatan Implementation Committee Chairman, YB Datuk Dr Maximus J Ongkili rightly made special emphasis on this salient part of the Kadazandusun cultural values system by declaring May 21, 2008 as the KDCA-Kaamatan Charity Day.

The programs for the Charity Day for this year include among others;
