The Federation of Rumpun Momogun Organisations Sabah, an umbrella body formed by KDM-based voluntary and cultural organisations last year, will have to do without the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA).
KDCA President Datuk Joseph Pairin Kitingan has indicated that it (KDCA) would prefer to keep status quo and continue to concentrate on its own agenda, that is to represent all the Kadazandusun ethnic groups.
“In my opinion, from the KDCA point of view, it (KDCA) exists to represent all ethnic groups under the Kadazandusun and for KDCA, that is already enough. The Rumpun Momogun wants more than this,” he said, when met at a press conference held in conjunction with the State-level Tadau Kaamatan finale at his Rural Development Ministry’s office, here, Friday.
“It is our own free will to carry out our own activities it is enough for us to focus on our own agenda which is already a heavy task.”
The federation concerned, which comprises nine founding members, was registered by Registrar of Societies on March 9 last year.
The nine founding members are Nunuk Ragang Heritage, Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Sabah Momogun Rungus Association (Samora), Tobilung Sabah Association (Tobisa), Persatuan Pendidik Kadazandusn Sabah (Pekadus), Lundayeh Cultural Association, Persatuan Murut Sabah (PMS), Yayasan Kadazan Dusun Kinabalu Sabah and Persatuan Graduan Kadamaian Kota Belud.
It recently held its first AGM here and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Bernard Dompok was named protem chairman with Datuk Rubin Balang as his deputy.
The rest of its committee members are seven vice chairmen including Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh, Pengiran Lalung, Mazlan Daiman, Muji Ampau, Jelani Hamdan, Marin Ahmad, Band Sabin as well as Dr Bilson Kurus (Secretary-General) and Linah Bagu (Treasurer-General).
