Art village to mark Kaamatan Fest: Pairin

KOTA KINABALU: An art will be created in conjunction with the State-level Kaamatan Festival celebration on May 30-31. Deputy Chief Minister-cum-Infrastructure Development Minister Tans Sri Josep Pirin Kitingan said the festival main organising committee during its meeting here Wednesday agreed to the proposal. He said the proposal was very interesting and expected to become one of the main attractions, as the art village will gather all the music and film enthusiasts in the State. The proposed village will provide an avenue and opportunity for the art enthusiasts throughout Sabah to promote their products and services to the public throughout the festivity period, he added. Apart from that, he said the committee also agreed to put in a new programme to be handled by Suria FM deejay Othoe. On preparations for the festival, Pairin said preparations for the opening of festival in Tuaran on May 1 are progressing smoothly. As for the closing of the celebration at Hongkod Koisaan in Penampang, he said the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) would build several new building that would not only provide comfort but also become another attraction.
